The Sioux Center Fire Department was established in 1897. Since that time, it has grown to over 40 volunteers, two fire stations, and a wide range of equipment.
The department averages around 100 calls each year and trains at least once a month. Each firefighter is required to be certified at the Firefighter 1 level or higher. Many members are also certified as First Responders and Emergency Rescue Technicians and many hold certificates in Firefighter 2, Hazmat, Truck Operations, Incident Command and others.
Both fire stations are conveniently located along Highway 75. Station 1 is located at 408 N. Main Avenue and Station 2 is located at 1510 S. Main Avenue.
