Community Profile
Sioux Center's growth and modernization has been steady through the years, with population growing to 7,048 residents, a 17.4% increase, according to the 2010 U.S. Census. Ideally located in northwest Sioux County, Iowa, Sioux Center is close to Interstate 29 and 90, allowing business and industry to continue to expand.  Agriculture is the root of Sioux Center and still supports the rural population with ag-related businesses. Paved streets, underground electric and telephone, fiber optic cable, well-kept homes, beautiful trees and flowers make Sioux Center a clean and attractive city.  Our community is comprised of people who like the better things in life, are proud of our community and welcome you to be a part of it! 

Excellent Place to Call Home
Sioux Center is home to a clean, attractive, and family-friendly city! It's an excellent place to call home as we offer a little of everything from a pleasant 2.9 mile recreational trail through town, an 18-hole professional golf course, indoor/outdoor pool and ice arena facility, movie theater, to bountiful choices for dining.  We are also home to Dordt College, a private Christian college that provides values and education and helps drive the community's advancement. The people of Sioux Center are friendly, charitable, cooperative, community-minded and very productive. 

A Little of Everything
You will never go hungry in Sioux Center as there are over 15 places to eat.  Choose from pizza, Chinese, Mexican, drive-thru, or dine-in, whichever taste you desire you won't be disappointed.  Sioux Center also offers nearly 20 religious congregations and denominations from which to choose.  There are also three health facilities, Sioux Center Community Hospital, Sioux Center Medical Clinic, and Greater Sioux Community Health Center.

Local Government
The progressive attitude of Sioux Center is lead by the city manager, mayor, and city council structure, who strive to make the community a thriving place to do business and live.  A city and county zoning ordinance are designed to meet building codes and to maintain attractiveness.  Municipal services including electric, natural gas, water, and sewer treatment are owned by the City.  The tax structure consists of Local Sales Tax at 1% and State at 6%.
